New smoke shop coming to The Village?

A sign for “Smoke & Mart” has appeared in La Jolla.

Large signage reading “Smoke & Mart” has been affixed to the building at 7717 Fay Ave. in The Village, right above the former Day Prep Academy, which has moved recently to Herschel Avenue.

The storefront is currently empty, and lajolla.ca was not able to locate contact information for Smoke & Mart, although the city of San Diego did approve a new business license July 1 for a Quickie Pickie convenience store at that location.

City representatives were unable to immediately confirm if Quickie Pickie and Smoke & Mart were under the same license.

Currently, The Village is also home to La Jolla Smoke Shop at 7553 Girard Ave.
