The city of San Diego hasn’t yet monetized street parking in La Jolla, so finding free parking can be simple if you know where to look.

Streets throughout La Jolla offer a variety of spaces, from unrestricted to timed spots, so look closely for signage indicating how long you’re allowed to leave your car. In The Village, for example, spots can be limited from 30 minutes up to three hours.

Larger La Jolla businesses and restaurants will also have their own paid parking you can take advantage of, like The Lot’s parking structure or valet parking at The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego and La Valencia.

Beach day? La Jolla beach parking varies by location. For Village beaches like The Cove, The Children’s Pool and Wipeout Beach, follow the tips above to navigate the options.

At Windansea, provided beach parking is limited to a handful of spots on one block of Neptune Place, which is usually filled with surfers and beachgoers as soon as the sun is up.
