Bryn Waite, 26, was found floating in the water July 22. The incident is under investigation.

A dead body was discovered in the water at La Jolla Shores Beach July 22, later identified by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s office as Bryn Waite, 26.

A cause of death is pending investigation.

The body was reported around 9:30 am, according to San Diego police Lt John White, about 150 yards south of Scripps Pier.

<Emergency personnel responded to reports of an unresponsive individual floating in the water. The person was located and pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the Medical Examiner.

It is not known if Waite was a local resident or when and where her death occurred.
