After nearly a year-long closure, repairs are complete.
The damaged railings on The Children’s Pool seawall have been repaired and the seawall is set to reopen to pedestrians by the end of November, according to city of San Diego spokesperson Caleb Olsen.
The seawall sustained damage to a few of its railings during severe swells caused by winter storms in December 2023; the seawall has been closed to the public since Dec. 31 as the city of San Diego had to wait until seal pupping season ended in May.
Repairs began Sept. 23 and were completed last week.
Reopening of the seawall is planned “following the completion of other required minor repairs,” Olsen said.
