A man was stabbed April 10 at Black’s Beach in La Jolla and a suspect is in custody.
At about 5:30 p.m., a man and his wife were lying nude on the beach, according to San Diego police Lt. Matt Botkin.
Another man, the suspect, emerged from a tent and took pictures of the naked couple.
As the couple was preparing to leave the beach, the suspect approached them and photographed them again.
The husband approached the suspect to intercept the suspect’s attempts to take more photos. The suspect produced a knife and stabbed the husband at least one time, Botkin said.
The incident was reported to the San Diego Police Department; officers arrived and detained the suspect, who was later arrested for the stabbing.
The husband was transported to a hospital where his wounds were determined to be non-life threatening.
The investigation is still in the preliminary stages, Botkin said, and the names of the suspect and victim are being withheld at this time to ensure the sanctity of the case.
