A fire at 627 Carla Way in La Jolla has left six people displaced
San Diego fire crews responded to a report of a fire at 4:15 a.m. Jan 30 and arrived to “heavy fire from all windows of [a] second floor apartment,” according to the incident report.
Crews worked to prevent the fire from spreading and had the blaze under control within 15 minutes.
The fire was confined to the originating apartment but there was smoke damage to a neighboring apartment.
Four adults, two children and one pet were displaced and assisted by the Red Cross. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation. The damage to the structure and contents is estimated at $650,000.
