The formerly blue-gray walls at The Children’s Pool in La Jolla are undergoing a makeover, with city of San Diego employees repainting the walls a yellow beige.
It is not yet known when the work will be completed or if other areas will be painted, according to information from city spokesperson Benny Cartwright.
Other repairs at The Children’s Pool, such as railings on the seawall damaged during strong swells, are underway but will not be finished until after seal pupping season ends May 15. There is talk of repairing the aging seawall itself, Cartwright said, but the city’s Engineering & Capital Projects Department lacks funding for such a project and so cannot yet initiate a proposal.
