Two of the five lajolla.ca Excellence in Journalism awards were first-place honors in the Real Estate and Science/Technology/Biotech categories.
lajolla.ca garnered five Excellence in Journalism awards from the San Diego Press Club’s 51st annual event Oct. 22.
In the “online and daily newspapers” division, Senior Editor Elisabeth Frausto took first place in the Real Estate category for “‘Climate migration’: Is extreme weather driving up real estate demand in La Jolla?” and first place in the Science/Technology/Biotech category for “Marine cloud brightening: Could it work to combat warming?”.
Frausto also won second place in Real Estate reporting for “Foxhill Estate: La Jolla’s den of French endurance” and second place in history for “La Jolla Luminaries: Tim Gonzalez, The Cave Store.” She also took home an Honorable Mention award in Wildlife/Nature for “Parroting presence: Chattering birds return to the coast.”
