We’re feeling sand-tastic today: La Jolla Cove made land as the fifth-best beach in the United States on Tripadvisor’s 2024 Traveler’s Choice Awards for Best of the Best Beaches.

Last year, The Cove came in at No. 10. 

The Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best title “celebrates the highest level of excellence in travel,” according to the travel site, a distinction culled from “a high volume” of glowing reviews collected over a 12-month period.

With more than 13,747 reviews, La Jolla Cove ranked fifth for being where “blue-green waters meet dramatic cliffs,” Tripadvisor wrote, a popular spot with surfers and our resident sea lions. Calling out the various water activities enjoyed by visitors from swimming to paddleboarding, Tripadvisor also said La Jolla’s free parking, restrooms and stroller-friendly atmosphere contributed to The Cove’s top spot.
