South of Windansea is Bird Rock, where the surf is tricky with swells coming from various directions. These reef break swells demand respect and is better navigated by the experienced surfer.
A favorite beach break spot just south of Black’s. Scripps is easier to get to, with smaller surf on either side of the pier with both left and right-hand waves. Because of its sandbar, swells hold longer before closing out, so you can enjoy longer rides.
