The National Weather Service is predicting “our wettest storm period” of the past year for Wednesday through Friday as two atmospheric rivers arrive.
Rain will return to La Jolla Wednesday, Feb 12 through Friday, Feb 14, and is expected to be heavier than the precipitation that fell Feb 7.
After a slight chance of drizzle Tuesday, Feb 11, the National Weather Service is predicting widespread rain, with two weak atmospheric rivers, or long, narrow regions transporting rain, starting Feb 12.
Rain will be heavy at times, with a decrease late Feb 12 into Feb 13, until a second plume of moisture arrives later Feb 13 with more precipitation through Feb 14.
“Definitely our wettest storm period in the past year,” NWS stated, though no hazardous marine conditions are expected as of this posting.
Dry and warmer weather is expected over the weekend.
