The precipitation is part of a cool and unsettled weather pattern this week, according to the National Weather Service.Â
A weak atmospheric River will move into Southern California during the evening March 5, with widespread and heavier precipitation that night through the next morning, with scattered showers following through the afternoon March 7.
Stronger westerly winds and higher seas will arrive Wednesday night and continue into Friday morning, generating hazardous boating conditions and high surf and dangerous swimming conditions likely for Thursday morning, March 6.
Warmer and drier weather is expected next week, though another rain storm may arrive Monday, March 10.
