The best chance to see the dramatically high tide is Sunday night, April 28; catch the lowest tides in the very early morning April 28 and 29.
“King” tides are returning to La Jolla Sunday, April 27 through Wednesday, April 30, though they’ll only be around while it’s dark.
“King” tides, marked by the extreme differences between the daily high and low tides, will make their first showing of the year with low tide at -1.2 feet April 27 at 3:38 am and high tide at 7 feet at 9:30 pm.
Monday, April 28 will bring high tide at 7 feet at 10:08 pm and low tide at -1.5 feet at 4:25 am. On Tuesday, April 29, high tide will be at 6.8 feet at 10:49 pm and low tide at -1.5 feet at 5:16 am. Wednesday, April 30, high tide will be at 6.4 feet at 11:36 pm and low tide at -1.4 feet at 6:11 am.
