A heat advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. tonight.
After a week-long heat wave, San Diego will finally drop to average temperatures or lower, starting Tuesday, Sept. 10.
A heat advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, with temperatures well above average in the 80s in La Jolla and higher across San Diego County, according to the National Weather Service.
A trough of low pressure will then move across the West Coast leading to a “drastic cooling trend” by midweek, with highs in the low 70s.
The low pressure trough will also result in a deeper marine layer and morning and evening clouds.
Temperatures are expected to remain cooler well into next week.
