Sidewalk and curb work on Nautilus Street will continue into summer

Temporary "No Parking Tow Away" sign posted on Nautilus Street in La Jolla, indicating road work scheduled for April 13–15 from 9 PM to 5 AM. The sign is placed on a wooden A-frame near the sidewalk with traffic and road markings visible in the background.

Two projects are being completed together on Nautilus Street between Fay Avenue and West Muirlands Drive, often creating traffic congestion.

The city of San Diego is working to complete two bundled projects on Nautilus Street between Fay Avenue and West Muirlands Drive.

The work involved consists of installing eight curb ramps, removing and replacing sidewalks and curb and gutter, reconstructing a signalized driveway, resurfacing streets (Nautilus Street from Fay Avenue to West Muirlands Drive; West Muirlands Drive from Nautilus Street to Fay Avenue; Aranda Avenue; Scarlati Place; Michael John Drive; Avenida Mirola; Avenida La Reina; and Avenida Manana north of Nautilus Street) and installing new Class II bike lanes.

As work is underway, traffic along the affected streets is limited, leading to congestion particularly around the pickup times for Muirlands Middle School and La Jolla High School (between 3 and 4 pm).

The projects are expected to be completed this summer, according to city spokesperson Tyler Becker.
