The application for a 20,925 square-foot, two-story mixed-use building at 941 and 945 Pearl Street is currently under city of San Diego review.
City of San Diego staff is currently reviewing whether to approve an application for a large redevelopment at 941 and 945 Pearl Street in The Village.
The property stretches from Girard Avenue west to Drury Lane and previously housed longtime business Ogden’s One Hour Cleaners, which closed a year ago.
The project would demolish the 2,980 square-foot, commercial building and construct a 20,925 square-foot, two-story mixed-use building over an underground basement.
The proposed development would also include five residential units and a commercial space with 15 parking spaces.
The application, filed by La Jolla firm Marengo Morton Architects, is a Process 2 decision, which means the plans do not go to a city hearing unless the project is appealed.
City staff recommends the applicants present projects to the La Jolla Community Planning Association, city spokesperson Richard Berg said, though it is not required.
Representatives from Marengo Morton were not able to comment or provide rendering by time of publication.
