A Carlsbad driver fled the scene after hitting a person who tried to prevent their leaving. No injuries were reported.

A person standing on the road after a minor traffic collision is not hurt after being hit by a driver slowly leaving the scene.

The collision occurred about 6:50 pm Jan 12 on northbound La Jolla Boulevard at Gravilla Street in Windansea. 

The two drivers exited their vehicles, and an argument may have ensued, according to information from San Diego police Lt. Bryan Brecht.

One of the subjects got back in his vehicle and started to drive away and the other party got in front of the vehicle in an attempt to prevent them from leaving. The subject hit this person at a slow speed, navigating around them and fleeing the scene. 

The hit-and-run did not cause any injuries.

Police later followed up at the Carlsbad address registered with the fleeing car; no one responded and Carlsbad police impounded the vehicle, Brecht said.
