A man holding a knife broke a window and vandalized a car, prompting a large police response and leading to his arrest.Â
A man is in custody Sept 12 after an incident during which he broke a second-floor window at La Jolla Village Lodge Apartments on Silverado Street in The Village, yelling and holding a knife.
The man then ran into the parking lot and vandalized a resident’s empty car, leaving splatters streaks of blood, from his injuries caused by the broken window glass, on most of the car’s outer surfaces.
San Diego police responded quickly, blocking off the corner of Silverado and Herschel Avenue until the man was apprehended.
The man was arrested and charged with two counts of felony vandalism, according to San Diego police, and was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his cuts. He will soon be booked into jail.
