San Diego police received several reports of erratic, dangerous behavior Feb 8, leading to a struggle with an officer and a man’s arrest on Eads Avenue.
A man in his 30s was apprehended by San Diego police around 11:25 am Feb 8 after multiple reports of erratic behavior.
One of the police calls involved a man yelling at people from his maroon Nissan Murano at The Children’s Pool parking lot around 11 am; other reports cited near crashes around The Village and other erratic behavior.Â
A citizen followed the suspect vehicle to Eads Avenue just north of Pearl Street, according to San Diego police Lt. Bryan Brecht.
The suspect exited his vehicle and was reported to have been dancing in the street and yelling at passersby.
The suspect was still outside of his vehicle when a SDPD officer arrived. The officer tried to detain the suspect, who pulled away from the officer and attempted to get back into his vehicle.
The suspect began fighting with the officer and was ultimately Tased by the officer, Brecht said.Â
There were no injuries to the officer.
The suspect was taken into custody without further incident, amid a large SDPD response during which the suspect’s shoes were observed on the ground and the Nissan Murano was opened to reveal the bumper inside the trunk area.
The suspect was transported to Scripps Hospital La Jolla for evaluation prior to being booked into jail for DUI drugs.
