No injuries were reported for the small fire, started in an office on Avenida de la Playa, which was doused within 30 minutes. 

San Diego firefighters made quick work of a small structure fire at 2166 Avenida de la Playa Feb 1, extinguishing it within 30 minutes. No injuries were reported.

The fire was reported at 10:59 am; the first fire units arrived four minutes later to the Coastal Environments office building on the second floor of the building.

Several fire engines and trucks responded, blocking the intersections of Avenida de la Playa from Calle de la Plata to El Paseo Grande, with fire vehicles lined up on the pedestrian-only block of Avenida de la Playa.

By 11:34 am, crews were mopping up and preparing to leave the scene.

It is not yet clear what started the fire or the extent of the damage.
