San Diego Fire-Rescue had the small blaze under control in less than an hour.
A small vegetation fire at the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve Aug. 23 was contained by San Diego Fire-Rescue crews in under an hour.
The small blaze, under one acre, was reported at 12600 North Torrey Pines Road at about 2:28 p.m., according to SDFD, near the Guy Fleming Trail south of the Los Peñasquitos Marsh.
Park Rangers worked quickly to evacuate the reserve.
SDFD reported the first unit on scene 14 minutes later; the crews totaled 51 personnel and included assistance from the cities of Poway and Encinitas.
At 3:22 p.m., SDFD reported the fire “stopped” on X; no buildings were threatened.

Roads in the immediate vicinity, including North Torrey Pines Road, remain closed as of this posting while crews work to extinguish the flames.
