Man dies on Torrey Pines Road after collision, hit and run

Police are seeking more information related to the April 11 incident; please call Crime Stopper (888) 550-8477 with tips.

A man has died after a collision on Torrey Pines Road and a subsequent hit and run.

The man, 25, was riding a 2023 Yamaha XMAX sport scooter just after 9 pm April 11 northbound in the number one lane of 3200 Torrey Pines Road.

The male was unable to negotiate the curvature of the road and collided with the concrete jersey barrier. He was ejected from the scooter and landed in the southbound number two lane, according to San Diego police.

An unknown vehicle ran over the man and fled the scene. The man died at the scene from his

injuries. The San Diego Police Department Traffic Division will be handling the investigation.

No information about the man’s identity has been released.
