The San Diego County Department of Environmental Health & Quality closed La Jolla Shores Beach at El Paseo Grande Jan 15 due a sewage spill.

Three yellow signs placed in the sand south of Scripps Pier caution beachgoers to keep out of the water, as contact with sewage or chemical contamination may cause illness, though there were several surfers and others in the water later that day.
