The March 9 incident on Draper Avenue led to a man, 62, being taken into custody peacefully.
A man is in police custody after a March 9 incident involving an alleged burglary on Draper Avenue.
About 7:07 pm, the San Diego Police Department received a call reporting a male inside a residence that did not belong to him, according to police Lt John White. The call was entered as a burglary in progress.
As officers arrived at the scene, the man, 62, exited the residence and attempted to hide from officers in a neighboring property, White said, prompting police officers to set up a perimeter to contain the suspect until additional resources, including the SDPD helicopter, were able to to assist with making a peaceful arrest.
The suspect surrendered without further incident, White said.
During the preliminary investigation, officers determined the suspect entered the property and committed a theft. He was arrested for burglary and resisting or delaying an officer.
White said additional charges could be added pending the final investigation.
No other information about the suspect is available.
