Garbage truck catches fire on Cuvier Street

The San Diego Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire within a half hour.

The contents of a trash truck caught fire about 2 pm March 24 on the cul-de-sac end of Cuvier Street just north of Prospect Street. Fire crews quickly responded and had the truck driver dump the trash onto the roadway, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue Department spokesperson Monica Munoz.

The fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported. There is no information available about what caused the fire.
