The assault on a market employee led the female shoplifting suspect to be booked into jail after her actions necessitated police restraint.

A Dec 11 incident at Valley Farm Market on La Jolla Boulevard led to a suspect being booked into jail.

Around 3 pm, the female suspect allegedly shoplifted and then struck a market employee with a milk crate, causing minor injuries, according to information from San Diego police.

A large police response ensued, and police restraints were used on the suspect, including a “spit sock,” to get her into a police vehicle.

The suspect was booked on the charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
