The critical thinking team now advances to the world finals at Michigan University in May after beating other California teams with creative teamwork.
The Children’s School’s Odyssey of the Mind team claimed victory at the state tournament in Moreno Valley March 15 and 16. The team’s first-place finish earns them a spot at the World Finals at Michigan State University in May.
Odyssey of the Mind is an internationally recognized program that fosters teamwork, creativity and critical thinking among students as they develop innovative solutions to complex, open-ended problems.
“This is such an incredible accomplishment,” TCS Head of School John Fowler said in a statement. “This is the first time in school history that we have had a team reach the World Finals. Their ability to think outside the box and work together to overcome challenges is incredible. We can’t wait to see them showcase their creativity on a global stage.”
The World Finals will bring together the best OM teams from across the globe to compete and celebrate their problem-solving skills. This experience will provide TCS students with an opportunity to engage with like-minded peers, further develop their talents and represent their school on an international level.
