With more than a dozen civic groups, La Jolla is full of people wanting to improve their community.

The La Jolla Town Council intends to bring the groups’ leaders together in a new forum formatted to further momentum.

The forum, called “One Voice,” will be held quarterly beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at the La Jolla Community Center, 6811 La Jolla Blvd.  

“We are all such passionate volunteers and residents,” Town Council President Treger Strasberg told lajolla.ca. “We would be unstoppable if we could come together and make real change happen for our community.”

The inaugural “One Voice” forum will aim to foster unity and open dialogue, according to press materials, by serving as a platform for leaders from the various La Jolla groups to come together, introduce themselves and field questions. 

Each leader will be stationed at a table, from which they can provide information about their organization and speak about the work they do in the community. There will also be an interactive session to address public questions and concerns.

“By facilitating such robust and informative interactions, the council aims to build a stronger sense of community and empower its members to speak with one unified voice,” the press release states.

“One Voice” is also an effort to promote transparency and diversity.
