Just months after one project cleared up, another is causing traffic snarls at La Jolla Village Drive and Villa La Jolla for the next several weeks.
Clear no more, Villa La Jolla from La Jolla Village Drive south to Nobel Drive is once again tied up in construction and traffic just months after drivers celebrated the end of a project that caused more than a year of vehicular headaches.Â
The new project is not related to the previous work and will take about six weeks to complete, having begun at the intersection Jan 20.
The project, called La Jolla Improv 1 (W), will construct about 7,920 linear feet of water main replacements and water service equipment including fire hydrants, valves and more.
Traffic is already tangled, as lajolla.ca observed on a late Friday morning, with Villa La Jolla down to one lane in each direction and cones and equipment causing confusion and backup.
Those accessing businesses and offices at The Shops at La Jolla Village, along Holiday Court or at the UC San Diego 8980 Building are advised to plan ahead.
