Drawing up the shades on its penthouse eatery, Sea & Sky opened May 15 high atop Hotel La Jolla, Curio Collection by Hilton at 7955 La Jolla Shores Dr.
Sea & Sky, the newest iteration of Hotel La Jolla’s 11th-floor concept, is open for all three meals daily, with dinner offerings including a Dungeness crab cake, Hokkaido scallops, whole pink snapper and a vegetable cassoulet.
Executive Chef Anthony Wells, previously of Juniper & Ivy restaurant and a James Beard nominee for Best Chef, California in 2022, is now presenting a menu focused on showcasing regional ingredients with elegant presentations.
The bar, which shares Sea & Sky’s panoramic views of La Jolla and the ocean, is mixing up cocktails reminiscent of local lore; the restaurant also boasts an extensive wine and spirits menu.
Along with the fine-dining improvements, the restaurant also overhauled the penthouse decor at the direction of hospitality design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates and now features retractable window panes and a show kitchen, among other reimagined details.
Sea & Sky serves as the apex of the hotel’s multimillion dollar renovation, encompassing all 110 guestrooms and suites.
Hotel La Jolla’s lobby, landscaped entrance, courtyard and pool lounge will receive their own revamp later this year.
