La Jolla’s food scene will become a little more renowned for a night: Cameron Ingle, the new executive chef at Marisi on Wall Street, will host San Diego’s first Friends of James Beard Benefit Dinner in more than a decade.
The event, set for 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, will feature a five-course meal from Ingle, whose resume includes the kitchens of Michelin-starred Blue Hill at Stone Barns, Bestia and Bavel, along with working for Michelin-starred Thomas Keller at Bouchon Bistro.
The dinner, highlighting local farms, will be preceded by a cocktail reception in collaboration with Marisi’s Wine Director and assistant general manager Christopher Plaia and Vice President of Bar and Spirits Beau du Bois.
Tickets are $350 each; reservations can be made on OpenTable. A portion of ticket proceeds go directly to the James Beard Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to celebrate, support and elevate the people behind America’s food culture.
Marisi opened in summer 2022 and is operated by the same group that established Puesto; Ingle took over the kitchen in August.
