George’s at the Cove open once again after renovations

The three-month project resulted in a new foundation and flooring, new glass and umbrellas and more, providing a refreshed rooftop experience for diners.

After a three-month closure, the iconic George’s at the Cove on Prospect Street reopened Feb 6 with a refreshed Ocean Terrace, its rooftop dining area.

The rooftop now boasts the following, all-new features: foundation and flooring; four-foot-tall perimeter glass wall without obstructing steel pillars; umbrella plan with LED lighting; permanent heaters; wall sconces; dining tables; and host stand.

The main dining area capacity of 120 guests remains the same.

To celebrate its grand re-opening, George’s will offer 50% off select bottles of Hill Family Estate wines for the first month.

The improvements “are meant to be mostly seamless to blend in with what we already had,” George’s partner and chef Trey Foshee said in a press release. “You just don’t mess with something magical.”

Though the renovations costs neared seven figures, “guests may not even notice everything,” Foshee said. “And that’s OK, especially with that million-dollar view of the water they enjoy that has never changed.”
