A.R. Valentien to close temporarily for renovations

A beautifully set outdoor terrace dining area at the A.R. Valentien restaurant, featuring wicker chairs and round tables covered with white tablecloths. Each table is adorned with vibrant flower arrangements and neatly arranged silverware and glassware. The terrace overlooks a serene landscape with lush greenery, a glimpse of a golf course, and a swimming pool in the background. The wooden beams and rustic design elements of the terrace enhance the charming and relaxed atmosphere, offering guests an inviting setting to enjoy a meal with a view of the distant trees and ocean

The Michelin Guide restaurant will be closed from Oct. 13 through the winter.

The signature restaurant at The Lodge at Torrey Pines, A.R. Valentien, will pause operations from Oct. 13 through the winter to undergo an expansion and renovation.

The restaurant, listed on the Michelin Guide, is slated for a new pastry kitchen, a modern new butchery section, upgraded flooring, walls, and lighting and an improved HVAC system.

“The updated and enhanced kitchen will ensure an exceptional dining experience for our guests,” Executive Chef Kelli Crosson said in a press release.

The Grill at Torrey Pines will remain open throughout the renovation, and a limited menu will be available in the lounge adjacent to A.R. Valentien, as well as on the restaurant’s outdoor terrace.

The Lodge will also set up a temporary, industrial banquet kitchen to provide the same high-quality menus currently offered to groups.

A.R. Valentien is expected to reopen by March for regular service.
