Queenstown Village at 1044 Wall St. in The Village will open outdoor seating in mid-May, using nine parking spaces along the adjacent portion of Herschel Avenue.
The seating will be constructed according to the city of San Diego’s Spaces as Places guidelines, which allow businesses to transition public property to permanent outdoor dining and other spaces, an initiative that began in response to pandemic-related restrictions.
“We’re super excited,” said Queenstown Village general manager Tyler Anson.
As the spaces are not within the coastal zone, the California Coastal Commission will not require Queenstown to replace the lost parking elsewhere.
