A fence has been installed near 6222 La Jolla Hermosa Way, blocking access to the La Jolla bike path, and the city of San Diego is investigating whether it’s permissible.
The fence was reported on Nextdoor April 25, generating dozens of comments against the fence and prompting complaints registered to the city of San Diego.
A city investigation has been opened, according to a representative from San Diego City Council President Pro Tem Joe LaCava’s office.
City spokesperson Perette Godwin confirmed the Building & Land Use Enforcement division of the Development Services Department recently opened a case “for a fence that was placed across what appears to be the alley on La Jolla Hermosa, behind 6224 Dowling Dr.”
A Code Enforcement Officer has been assigned and will investigate the complaint to determine whether the fence was installed on public or private property and whether it needs to come down.
