Music and more converged on La Jolla Boulevard Oct 25 to raise money – and community spirit – for Bird Rock Elementary School.
Four years in and now with five stages, the expanded BirdStock festival held Oct 25 brought musicians, fans, makers and more to Bird Rock for what’s quickly becoming a treasured La Jolla event.
More than 26 local bands and musicians played along La Jolla Boulevard, closed to cars from Midway Street to Camino de la Costa for the day, with thousands of attendees turning out to dance and enjoy the tunes.
Along with the nonstop, multi-genre music, BirdStock also expanded its kids’ area, offering a pumpkin patch, bounce house, dunk tank and author visits.
An artisan market with more than 70 vendors, a pet parade and costume contest and more rounded out the festival, which serves as a major fundraiser for Bird Rock Elementary School.
