La Jolla Art & Wine Festival returns Sept. 28-29

Expect road closures and no-parking zones in The Village beginning Sept. 27.

Traffic will be a little trickier in The Village this weekend, but it’s all for a good cause: The La Jolla Art & Wine Festival returns this year from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 28 and 29.

Girard Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic from Torrey Pines Road to Prospect Street, along with portions of Kline, Silverado and Wall streets.

The closures will begin at noon Friday, Sept. 27; the streets will reopen at 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30.

Cars parked in the closure zones will be towed after 3 p.m. Sept. 27.

More than 170 artists from across the U.S. and Mexico will display their creations in a variety of mediums at the free festival.

There will also be a two-day silent auction, pet adoption stations and live entertainment and music.

A ticketed wine beer will feature more than 35 international wineries, local craft breweries and craft distilleries.

The La Jolla Art & Wine Festival, in its 16th year, raises funds for the five public schools in La Jolla.

To date, the festival has donated more than $1 million to the schools.
