The La Jolla Cove Swim Club’s annual Pier to Cove Swim took place June 30, with more than 300 people taking to the waves in the timed event.
The swim began north of the Scripps Pier, directing swimmers past the pier and across to La Jolla Cove.
The approximately 1.5-mile swim terminated with awards to the top finishers, with San Diego lifeguards overseeing safety.
“The swim was awesome,” said LJCSC member Eric Fletcher, noting about the same number of swimmers participated as in last year’s event, including many from the local swim community as well as people who traveled in from Los Angeles, Oceanside and other places.
“It was just a beautiful, fun … event,” Fletcher said.
