Entries open for 2026 La Jolla Christmas Parade

Those wishing to participate in the 70th annual La Jolla parade and Holiday Festival must register by June 24.

Organizers of the annual La Jolla Christmas Parade & Holiday Festival are calling for entries for the 70th annual event, set for Sunday, Dec 6.

The deadline for participant entry is noon Wednesday, June 24 as parade space is limited, organizers said. Late entries will not be accepted.

The parade typically includes marching bands; floats; equestrian units; vintage vehicles; canine units; schools, nonprofits and local organizations; and community leaders.

This year’s theme is “A Village Christmas: Celebrating 70 Years of Holiday Tradition” and participants are encouraged to design their entries to embrace the theme.

The theme is inspired by charm and nostalgia and will honor La Jolla’s timeless traditions.

The Christmas Parade will begin at 1 pm, following its traditional route north on Girard Avenue from Kline Street, turning west on Prospect Street and ending at the La Jolla Recreation Center.

At the Rec Center, Holiday Festival activities begin at 1 pm and include family-friendly activities like games, crafts, Santa visits and a new Christmas Market.
