1) Mr. Jack O’ Lanterns Pumpkin Patch

Your classic pumpkin patch oasis awaits you at Mr. Jack O’ Lanterns Pumpkin Patch in La Jolla. They offer tons of activities to enjoy while there, like pumpkin decorating and decorating, games galore, free photo stations, and more. You can also get take-home pumpkin carving kits and all things Halloween decor and costumes.

Free parking is available, and all ages are welcome. 

2) Halloween Aglow at Birch Aquarium

Friday, Oct 27-28

The Birch Aquarium opens its doors for a special Halloween celebration. Known for its already enchanting environment, the aquarium takes it a step further by adding a luminous glow to the space and its underwater creatures. The result is an enchanting celebration that lets you access the mysterious world beneath the waves while observing your favorite Halloween traditions. 

The Birch Aquarium’s Halloween celebration is a family-friendly event. The aquarium ensures that there’s something for everyone, from trick-or-treat stations to educational exhibits.

3) Dog-O-Ween

Together, the La Jolla Pets Foundation and Decker’s Dog + Cat bring you Dog-O-Ween, where your bond with your dog is celebrated in a fun and unique way. Get your doggo ready for their Halloween costume contest debut with fun contest categories, stay for the dance party, games, trick or treating, and love on the dogs available for adoption. All proceeds are donated to local pet rescues, and all ages are welcome.

Creepy Candy Crawl

The La Jolla Village Merchants Association invites you to bring the family out to trick-or-treat the village with their Creepy Candy Crawl. Participating businesses will be decorated with balloons so you’ll know just who to visit for the treats. No registration is required, and you can even pick up a treat bag at the La Jolla Real Estate Broker’s Association before hitting the rest of the stops. More information here.

The neighborhood of Bird Rock is a popular area for trick-or-treating and seeing Halloween decorations.
