After an 11-year hiatus, The Whaling Bar has triumphantly returned to La Jolla at the La Valencia Hotel. This iconic cocktail lounge, which originally opened in 1949, has been thoughtfully reimagined to blend nostalgia with modern flair. The revamped space features greens, granite, and florals while preserving the beloved Wing Howard mural "The Whale's Last Stand."
The bar retains the cozy elements of the original bar while introducing new, exciting features. The beverage menu mixes old favorites with new concoctions, including "The Whaler" and inventive cocktails like the "Green Dragon" and "Pink Royale."
