Peru meets La Jolla at Pepino, an all-day cafe and the brick-and-mortar manifestation of chef Sebastian Becerra’s longtime, beloved breakfast and lunch pop-up.
Now a permanent fixture of La Jolla’s culinary scene, Pepino’s Peruvian-influenced, seasonally-driven fare brings a community-centered ethos to its eatery and bakeshop, with popular dishes like the lomo saltado burrito, solterito salad and homemade pastries.
Based on approachability and kindness, Pepino also serves as a heartfelt tribute to family, memory and Peruvian culinary roots, named “cucumber” in Spanish after Becerra’s grandfather’s nickname.
Come for the thoughtfully-prepared dishes, stay for the tradition and community.
