Wipeout Beach, nestled between South Casa Beach and the La Jolla tidepools, provides a wider shore for sunbathing and resting between wave jumps, but only during low tide. Visit during a high tide, and this beach virtually disappears.

Hugged by rugged bluffs and several caves for added character, Wipeout Beach is accessible via a staircase to the north. Make sure to walk the length of the beach to explore the natural wonders, hidden from the landscaped cliffs above. Or stay on top and savor the stunning views. You’ll find several people dotted along the bluffs during sunset.

A lone lifeguard watches from the bluffs above during busy spring weekends and all summer. There are no bathrooms; parking is on Coast Boulevard.
