Rare Trees & Sacred Canyons: Torrey Pines – San Diego’s Symbol of Preservation

Get to know the history of La Jolla’s beloved Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve this February at the La Jolla Historical Society.

This new exhibition will enlighten you on North America’s rarest tree and the remarkable preservation and conservation efforts that have allowed the reserve to be enjoyed for over 100 years and many more to come.

The Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is a testament to the ‘preservation ethic’ that San Diego is dedicated to, advocating on behalf of the land, upholding what conservationists have worked hard to maintain, and honoring its role in the lives of our earliest indigenous peoples.
