Future is Color Studio Sessions and the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) are teaming up for FIC Studio (Spooky) Sessions, a Halloween edition of Jazz Night. Drawing on the spirit of “Soul Train,” the evening fills the museum with music, dancing and costumes.
In Axline Court, guests can gather for a listening room devoted to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” exploring the album’s sound, cultural impact, visuals and longtime ties to Halloween. A vinyl DJ follows with a smaller dance party of funk, soul, disco and boogie records. Out in Art Park, a DJ and a live band keep the crowd moving until the peak of the night: a “Soul Train”-style dance line that doubles as the stage for a costume contest.
