Boomers

South of Point La Jolla/La Jolla Cove

Advanced swimmers should only snorkel here. You’re likely to see Seals, Garibaldi, yellowtails fish, and dolphins.

Experienced swimmers and snorkelers are welcome at Boomer’s as the currents can be much stronger in this exposed spot. The best time to snorkel here is when the waters are calmer, and you can float above the rocky reefs without worry. Go beyond the shallower reef to see if you can spot a playful seal or two swimming through the thick kelp beds.

  • Avoid swimming here when the surf is large
