Ike’s Love & Sandwiches Opens in La Jolla

two Ike's love& sandwiches creations on a table with plain backdrop highlighting the fully packed sandwiches full of veggies and meats

The iconic Ike’s first exploded in San Francisco in 2007, a small sandwich shop founder Ike Shehadeh called “Ike’s Place.” The sandwiches at Ike’s are in their own lane, with unique combinations and distinctive flavors you won’t find anywhere else. If you’ve been to Ike’s before, you may already know and love Ike’s secret “Dirty Sauce.”

In celebration of the grand opening on Thursday, May 25, Ike’s is offering the first 50 guests to score a free sandwich, a t-shirt, and the ultimate prize of winning free Ike’s sandwiches for a year! Visitors who join during the grand opening can meet Ike, get their t-shirt signed, and be the first to try Ike’s two newest sandwiches inspired by icons of La Jolla’s past.

The “Ellen Scripps” is named after legendary La Jolla philanthropist Ellen Browning Scripps, and the “Hannie Caulder” is named after the movie in which the late Raquel Welch starred.

The Ellen Scripps is made with vegan turkey, veggie bacon, Ike’s Seuss Sauce, and pepper jack cheese, and the Hannie Caulder features steak, Ike’s Seuss Sauce, Fries, and American Cheese. We can’t wait to try these!

Whether you’re a meat lover, vegetarian, vegan, halal, or gluten-free, you will find a sandwich that satiates your style. Fans of Ike’s, new or existing, are encouraged to sign up to be Ike’s Reward members and enjoy $7.97 sandwiches all day, the day of the opening. And a pro tip, ordering is quick through the mobile app or website when you want to skip the wait, with pick-up and delivery options.

The new Ike’s is located at 8657 Villa La Jolla Dr, La Jolla, CA 92037.
