Toy Story 5 comes to the big screen under the stars as part of Summer Movies in the Park, San Diego’s largest free outdoor movie series, screening at the La Jolla Recreation Center. The beloved animated franchise continues following Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of their toy companions as they navigate a new challenge that tests friendship, loyalty, and what it means to show up for the people — and toys — they love.
Now in its third decade, Summer Movies in the Park began in 2007 as a neighborhood initiative to bring residents back into their local parks after dark, and has since grown into a beloved regional tradition with screenings across San Diego all summer long. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic, blankets, and chairs, since concessions won’t be available on-site, and to settle in before the pre-show activities kick off ahead of the movie. The park does not allow alcohol, and leashed pets are welcome to join the fun.
